Ok Kaotic Army, I wanted to update you on all the great stuff going on. As you may know Im the beautiful city of London with the Boys as I speak. Aside from the rain at times, the past week has been productive and amazing. The couple of songs that weve written have been really fresh. Each day we get closer and closer to finishing an album that we hope you will love.

On another note Im really excited about the new edition to Nick.Net. Id like to personllay welcome Emilia from Kaos-Online to the team. After watching her over the past years and seeing how up-to-date shes been with her website on news pertaining to me I felt we just had to have her. Kick Ass Emilia!

Nick.Net is also going to get a face lift. We are working on the new design and its almost ready to go. Its going to be a little more colorful and uplifting.

Are you excited about Canada and South America? I cant wait to bring the Im taking off tour to your town and rock you like you need it lol. We have put up VIPs and are working on after parties as well so get your tickets!

Whats the tour all about?

Its a collaboration, without sounding too egotistical, between two of the biggest pop bands of the past 20 years. Were uniting to put on a hell of a show. We come on stage together, do a couple of songs, then our own material. Its the experience of a lifetime for fans.

Have you noticed your audience changing over the years?

Theyve got older and have families but theyre just as excited and passionate as before. Thats what its all about. They believe theyre part of something special.

When Take That did their last tour, the audience was reportedly comprised of extremely drunk middle-aged women have you noticed that with you?

Not necessarily. Yes, some of the fans want to drink let them have fun. All we know is theyre enjoying the show. You can tell by their faces, when they see both the bands up there, its like watching two entities they never would have expected to see at the same time coming together they find it unbelievable.

Whats the most extreme thing a fans done to meet you?
Theyve come to my house, hidden on the tour bus that happened a lot when we were younger, not so much now but there are still fanatics out there.

Have you ever had to call the police?

Some of them have become crazy and even over the past couple of years Ive had some situations. You just need to monitor things. You need to keep watchful.

You were 12 when you joined the Backstreet Boys if you had kids would you let them enter showbiz at such a young age?

Probably not. You sacrifice a lot to work in this business. You lose relationships, lose reality, lose normality. I wouldnt want that for my kids. I guess all you can do is raise them to the point where they can make their own decisions and I think 12 is too young for that. Id prefer my kids to do sports instead.

What lessons has the music industry taught you?

You have to be careful and choose the right people to have in your life. When youre in a celebrity bubble, youll meet people whose intentions arent pure and will try to take advantage. You need to learn how to weed out the bad. People dont realise the characters and masks people wear in this business are just that. Actors, entertainers and people in this industry have ways to mask their true intentions, so you need to be careful.

Has it made you more suspicious of people?

Definitely but I want to be open as well. I like meeting new people. You just have to become a quick judge of character.

You had a heart problem whats your health like now?

I changed my lifestyle, got in the gym, changed my eating habits and eliminated alcohol from my life so the problem went away. I had the early signs of cardiomyopathy but it was so early on it was possible for me to rectify it by changing my lifestyle. They cant detect it now. Ill drink at a special occasion but the scare made me change my behaviour.

How much of the original problem was down to drinking?

Some cardiomyopathies can be induced by toxification of the heart due to drugs and alcohol youre basically poisoning your heart. Thats what was happening with me. It was all pretty much down to drugs and alcohol but Im much better now.

What are the perks of fame?

Having fans, so I can create a solo album and release it and tour. It means I can have a secondary career and create my own music videos. We released my new album in individual territories Japan, Canada and then Germany and I was able to write and direct my video, which Im very happy about. Im writing screenplays as well.

Why does solo success elude you in the UK?

Im only one guy. I just got off tour with NKOTBSB and I self-funded my record, wrote it all myself and did the videos. Weve done individual distribution deals with individual territories. If UK fans decide they want my solo material, just let me know. Im putting together a killer solo show. It has a space theme and starts with me in a cool space helmet. If they want it, they just need to ask.

Whats your most extravagant purchase?

I just bought a Paul Reed Smith guitar, which cost $12,000. Collecting guitars is a hobby because I love playing them. It has a blue finish on the front and is white on the back with gold pick ups. Its beautiful.

Nick Carter and Indaba Music to Debut Official Remix Album with Contest Winners

Im Taking Off: Relaunched & Remixed to be released digitally by Kaotic/IRIS Distribution worldwide on November 15

(Los Angeles, CA October 18, 2011) Nick Carter, beloved member of the Backstreet Boys and accomplished solo artist, joined forces with online music creation site Indaba Music to give fans worldwide an opportunity to collaborate on his upcoming remix album, Im Taking Off: Relaunched & Remixed. Now, the winning entries have been announced, and a whopping 14 tracks from Indaba remixers, plus two bonus tracks, will be featured on the album, which has been confirmed for digital release worldwide on November 15.

Contest participants submitted remixes of five tracks (Love Cant Wait, Falling Down, m Taking Off, Not the Other Guy, and So Far Away) from Nicks second solo release, Im Taking Off: One grand prize winner was selected for each track, and these remixers were guaranteed inclusion on the album. They also were paid $1,500 for their work and had their remixes publicized on Nick Carters website and Facebook page. Two runners-up were also selected for each track. They also received $500 in compensation and features on Nicks website and Facebook page.

Behind The Scenes of Nick Carters New Music Video

Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter is no stranger to screaming female fans, and at his latest video shoot, he was reminded of the height of his fame in the 90s. Recently in Nashville, Nick shot the video for his new single Burning Up at Play Bar in Nashville. Many lucky fans won a spot as an extra from Nashville's radio station 107.5 The River and got to see the star in action.

The famous boy band star, who co-directed the video with his friend Danny Roew, revealed to In Touch what the shoot was like. "I went all out on this video. There comes a time when over- analyzing and procrastination can get in the way of creativity."

Nick also revealed some details about a video from his second solo album I'm Taking Off. "Throw a bunch of paint on half-naked people, put a great rapper in the mix and dance your ass off to a hot track and you get I'm Burning Up. Sounds like fun!

After nearly nine-years in the making, Backstreet Boys Nick Carter returns with his sophomore album, Im Taking Off, a record he calls his first real solo achievement. From the struggles of 2002s Now or Never (It just wasnt me) Carter has come a long way. He kicked his drug and alcohol addiction, went public with serious family drama on the reality show House of Carters and is now happily back to his boy band roots. If you lie with dogs, youre gonna get fleas, Carter tells Street Date. The biggest hurdle was cleaning house.
Read on as Carter talks about laboring away on this summers NKOTBSB fusion tour, what its like to travel with eight other men and how boy-band mania has reached new levels of super-fandom.

SD: Your last record was 8 years ago. Tell us why you waited so long to get back into the studio for Im Taking Off.
NC: I needed to take time to figure out who I am and what music I want to give to the world. I had to live life and gain experience so that I would have the material to put out a great album. Im the best I have ever been. There was no better time than now to throw that energy out there.

SD: What kind of music were you listening to while recording this album? Were there any unlikely sources of inspiration?
NC: Men Without Hats comes to mind. My playlists are constantly changing: one day Ill be listening to Lloyd or Fleetwood Macs Rumours. Depends on the day and the mood Im in.

SD: Im Taking Off feels a lot like an extension of your Backstreet Boys days, whereas your first album was more about you as a solo artist. Was this intentional in a back to your roots sort of way?
NC: I feel as though this is really my first solo album. Im Taking Off is more me than my first [album]. I didnt know who I was or what I was doing back then. I love some of the songs but it just wasnt me.

SD: Do you have a favorite track on the album?
NC: My favorite track is probably Falling Down. I love that song. When I sing it live, something takes over and it takes me to another place.

SD: Youre touring with Backstreet Boys and NKOTB this summer. Have you found that boy-band mania dies down as your audience gets older?
NC: Not at all! If anything, the mania is at an all new level now that fans from BSB and NKOTB have joined together. The only difference I can see is that they are a lot more respectful.

SD: As one of five children, its safe to say youre used to dealing with many different personalities in close quarters but whats it like to travel with eight other men?
NC: We each have our own bus and some of the guys in NKOTB share theirs. We all get along great and give each other space when needed. Our riders have calmed down over the years, so nothing too crazy. For me, its all fresh fruits and vegetables so I can juice!

SD: This December marks the second Backstreet Boys cruise. Whats a typical day at sea like with you guys?
NC: There are no typical days on a BSB cruise! They are filled with activities and shows and tons of surprises! Playing Twister with 10 people was really funny. Rear ends and faces ended up way too close to one another.

SD: Youve been very open about recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Whats been the biggest hurdle?
NC: The biggest hurdle was cleaning house. I had to surround myself with happy, healthy, positive people. If you lie with dogs youre gonna get fleas. Im Taking Off was definitely cathartic. I was getting my feelings and emotions out as well as conquering some personal goals and achieving them.

SD: Youre a successful musician, youve acted in films and reality TV, theres even footage of you multi-tasking in the kitchen: cooking and singing at the same time. What are some other things you want to try in your career?
NC: Right now Im studying guitar. I want to be able to play like Prince or John Lennon. Im also writing my own scripts.

SD: Youve been in the industry since you were a kid so youve had some really special celebrity experiences. Has there ever been a moment when youve gotten especially star-struck, or thought, I cant believe this is happening to me right now.
NC: Celebrities I can handle. I would be star struck to meet people like Norman Vincent Peale or Albert Einstein. Intellectual people intrigue me.

FIRST SINGLE LOVE CANT WAIT AT RADIO JUNE 21 & AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD

Nick Carter will release his second solo album, Im Taking Off, on 604 Records/Universal Music Canada on August 9. Im Taking Off is a collection of original songs including the first single Love Cant Wait which goes to radio on June 21. Love Cant Wait is exclusive to the albums Canadian release and is co-written by Canadas own Shawn Desman.

The album, according to Nick, who co-wrote every song, is diverse. It has songs about love, happiness, the sad parts of loves got some dance tracks on it. You can play it for your loved one or you can play it in the club...or both at once, in the case of Love Cant Wait.

Im Taking Off is Nicks second solo release after his enormous success with Backstreet Boys and his first release with 604 Records/Universal Music Canada, the countrys leading Music Company. Jonathan Simkin, president of 604 Records, says, "We are absolutely thrilled to be working with an artist of Nick's stature. It is an honour and a privilege to be releasing this record."
